Dr. Paulo F M de Oliveira obtained his BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (EEL-USP), Lorena in 2012. He did his PhD at Centre RAPSODEE (2012-2015), IMT Mines-Albi – France, under the supervision of Prof. Michel Baron and Dr. Michel Baltas and others. During this period, he was dedicated to the investigation of mechanochemical organic reactions to produce pharmaceutically relevant molecules. In 2016 he joined the group of Prof. Marc Descamps and Dr. Jean-François Willart at Université de Lille – France to investigate mechanically induced crystal-to-crystal transitions and amorphization of molecular materials. In 2017 he went back to Brazil in the groups of Prof. Pedro Camargo and Prof. Roberto Torresi to develop mechanochemical methodologies for the bottom-up mechanochemical synthesis of noble metal nanoparticles for catalysis and porous molecular systems for energy storage. He also spent one year (2019-2020) in Berlin in the group of Dr. Franziska Emmerling to study the formation of gold nanoparticles using in-situ X-ray diffraction and X-ray spectroscopy.
Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Chemistry – University of São Paulo, holding a Young Investigator Grant from the prestigious Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) to nucleate his group for the studies of mechanochemical synthesis of multicomponent materials for technological applications. |
